CONTRACT FOR BEFORE AND/OR AFTER SCHOOL SERVICES
WELCOME TO THE Be Mighty CLUB! We are so happy you have chosen to enroll your child(ren) in our before and/or after-school program. Please review the following contract. This contract will be reviewed and signed by both the parent and a Be Mighty representative on or before your child(ren)’s first day of attendance.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Our before-school program begins at 6:30am. Students will be dismissed to the cafeteria for breakfast at 7:45 am. Our after-school program begins at 2:50 pm and all students must be picked up by 6:00pm. Our Be Mighty program follows the CCPS school year academic calendar, so it is important for you to find alternative care for your child(ren) when school is not in session and when we have teacher work days.
ENROLLMENT:
We have only one term of enrollment. Your child(ren) may be registered for full time (5 days a week).
A payment amount will be agreed upon at the start of enrollment. You will be billed this amount regardless of your child(ren)’s attendance. If at any time your child(ren)'s enrollment plan needs to change, a new weekly rate will be agreed upon and a new contract will be signed.
We do not allow one day drop-ins. Only registered Be Mighty students may attend our program. We cannot allow non-registered students to accompany your child(ren) during The Be Mighty Club, so if you are making plans to care for another student (carpooling, sleepovers, etc.), please ensure that student is also enrolled in The Be Mighty Club.
FINANCIAL POLICIES:
a. Registration fee: A nonrefundable $15 registration fee per student will be charged at the time of registration or with the first payment.
b. Payments: Payments may be made by card. Receipts, invoices, and year-end statements will be available through the RevTrak system. Payments will be determined based on the Be Mighty Club fee schedule. This set amount will be written at the end of this contract. Payments are due on the first day of the school week. Accounts will be billed the agreed upon rate regardless of your child(ren)’s attendance that week.
c. Late Payments: A late fee of $5 will be assessed on the 3rd day of the school week. If your account becomes two weeks past due, your child(ren)’s enrollment will be temporarily suspended until the account is brought up to date. This suspension may also lead to your child(ren) being placed on a waiting list in order to return to The Be Mighty Club as space becomes available. Accounts that develop a continual balance due to late charges or reflect a pattern of late payments will be reviewed and can lead to your child(ren)’s dismissal from The Be Mighty Club.
d. Additional Charges: A late pick up fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged after 6:00pm. This charge will be added to your tuition in the next billing cycle.
DROP OFF and PICKUP PROCEDURES
a. Students can be dropped off to the Be Mighty room between 6:30-7:40 am. Students must be signed in by an adult when they are dropped off in the morning.
b. Be Mighty Club pick up begins at 3:30 following our parent pick up. When picking up your student, you will need to pull into a parking spot in the parking lot. We can not allow cars to park along the curb since it blocks the loop and the flow of traffic. Please make sure to have your photo ID with you in order to be able to pick up your child(ren). One of our Be Mighty office staff members will call your child’s name for dismissal. You will then be asked to sign them out.
c. Students will only be released to those authorized on their emergency card. Please tell any emergency contacts to have a photo ID ready when picking up your child(ren). Names can be added or deleted at any time throughout the year. If there is ever a time when someone other than an emergency contact will be picking up your child(ren), you must notify us in writing with your permission.
d. Failure to adhere to these safety procedures may result in your child(ren) being dismissed from The Be Mighty Club.
HEALTH FORMS
Every child must have a health form on file with our school nurse. It is imperative that you communicate all potential concerns with our staff members. Our Be Mighty staff members will not administer any form of medication (this includes doctor prescribed and over the counter meds) to our students. If your child requires a mid-day dosage of medication, please make arrangements with the school nurse to administer these medications before the end of the school day. If your child has permission from their physician to carry emergency medication (rescue inhaler, epi pen, etc.), these reports must be on file with The Be Mighty Club. In the case of an illness, parents will be notified to pick up their child. In the case of severe health concerns or emergencies, 911 will be called.
SNACKS
The Be Mighty staff members will provide a snack before we begin our academic rotations. These snacks are provided by CHAMPS Café and our Be Mighty program. Students are not permitted to bring their own snacks. If your child has an allergy noted on their health form, our staff will ensure his/her snack is appropriate.
HOMEWORK
Students will be provided with 30 minutes of homework help daily. It is the student’s responsibility to work on their homework. Our staff members will assist with homework during that time, but they will not be responsible for checking for accuracy and completion. Please communicate with your child(ren) when they return home to ensure homework is completed with accuracy and proper effort.
DISCIPLINE
Our program will follow the behavior policies set forth in the Charlotte County Schools’ Code of Student Conduct. Due to the educational nature of our program, we cannot permit any type of misbehavior that disrupts the learning of others. When misbehavior occurs, students will be given a verbal warning. If the behavior continues, students will receive a behavior infraction. Our Be Mighty staff members will inform parents of the incident at pickup time, and parents will be required to sign the behavior infraction. If students earn three behavior infractions, a conference will be held with Myakka River administration. A temporary suspension from The Be Mighty Club may occur if behavior does not improve. During a disciplinary suspension, you will not be charged tuition. However, frequent infractions or suspensions may result in your child(ren)’s dismissal from The Be Mighty Club.
ACCIDENTS
Despite our best efforts, we may have occasional accidents. An accident report will be provided at pickup to explain what happened. In the event your child sustains a severe injury while at The Be Mighty Club, you or an emergency contact will be contacted immediately.
